Shrouded

Shrouded is a series of scraped portraits which portray the emotional barriers between my children and I. In my eyes, my children wear protective “shrouds” which obscures their moments of distress from me.

When I see them buried under the layers of thick, gauzy texture, I feel utterly helpless. Read the artist statement.

These drawings are created on sanded Dura-Lar with etching ink and lithographic crayon which are scraped into with various knives. See my process here.
